"Dahua provides 'real-time Uyghur Warnings' to China police, as Dahua's own technical documents reveal, discovered by IPVM," reports IPVM, a leading video surveillance trade publication. "This proves Dahua lied when Dahua claimed it 'does not sell products that feature [an] ethnicity-focused recognition function' after it was revealed that Dahua had Uyghur tracking in its code." The report also notes that after Dahua was sanctioned by the U.S. for assisting Chinese government repression, it crowed that the sanction proved the effectiveness of its technology. IPVM continues to do groundbreaking investigations of Chinese surveillance technologies and their use, and supporters, in the West. Check out their report on how a former U.S. senator is helping a major PRC surveillance tech provider. Read the Uyghur story here.
